The old adage goes “patience is a virtue”, I say patience is difficult to put to practice.

When we’re going through a tough time & are in need of peace, we want a resolution quickly. We say we’ll wait, while thinking HURRY UP! In Psalm 40, David was struggling with something & instead of giving in to his impatience he wrote:

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He pulled me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭40:1-2

Patience isn’t an easy characteristic to have, especially when we’re in need of help, but patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, which means that as believers, we already posses it. There will always be struggles, but as the psalmist said; God will pull you up from them & set your feet upon a rock.
